Re-cycle Empty Crisp Packets to Support Kent Air Ambulance!crisp packet poster

Thomas in Year 6 wrote to Mrs. Palmer to ask if we could start collecting crisp packets at lunchtimes to support Kent Air Ambulance. The crisp packets are re-cycled to make into furniture which is then sold to make money for Kent Air Ambulance. He feels that the Air Ambulance does an amazing job to support all people needing emergency medical treatment in Kent and wants our school to help support this worthwhile cause. Thomas has also volunteered to help check that the crisp packets are empty each lunchtime and to organise some poster making to promote the fundraising.

Year 6 fundraisingca1
Following their successful fundraising , Year 6 are now the proud sponsors of a trainee guide dog puppy, named Skye. They have received their certificate and first photo of the adorable puppy and are looking forward to receiving ‘pupdates’ on Skye’s progress over the next year as well as further photos. They will be following Skye’s journey through her training and will continue fundraising over the coming terms.

Harvest Festival Thursday 10th October
The School council decided that they wanted the contributions from this to go to Thanet Foodbank to help families and children of Thanet. It took Year 6 helpers some time to help load up Miss. Dysons car as there were so many donations and Thanet Foodbank were very grateful.

Young Minds – National Well-Being Day 10th October
Our School Councillors were a real credit to the school organising this and worked tirelessly, selling cakes and promoting the event because they were so determined to make a difference. The School Councillors went on to give their classes lessons on mindfulness and ideas of how to have positive thoughts and feelings.
