As a Church school we have a distinctive character where Christian values are promoted in all aspects of school life.

We encourage all members of the school community to promote a Christian ethos where care and respect is shown to everyone.  As a Church school there are strong links with the Parish Church of St Laurence.  Members of the ministry team lead Worship weekly and visit regularly to support the school and the learning of the children.

St. Laurence’s Ethos Statement:

The family that is St. Laurence ensures that all members of the school community feel safe, valued, cared for and listened to.
We appreciate and value the uniqueness of each individual and provide a nurturing environment for all.
Our special Christian identity is demonstrated in the values we share and in the relationships that all members of the school community have with one another.
We are inclusive and welcome others regardless of differences; all individuals are respected, supported and nurtured.
We give to others the tolerance, understanding and forgiveness that we would want for ourselves.
With God’s guidance, “We believe, achieve and aspire!”

Our Christian Values

Friendship and thinking of others gives us joy in our hearts and makes us thankful.

John 15:11
“ These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full”

We have hope and aspirations for the future. We believe that doing the best that we can  will lead to our hopes and dreams coming true.

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

We accept an apology and restore friendship. We forget past mistakes and move on.

Luke 11: 4
“Forgive us our sins, as we also forgive everyone who sins against us.”

We care for and respect people in our school because we believe in one another.

Mark 12: 31
Jesus said “Love thy neighbour as yourself”
